DSV in the UK has recently expanded its less than container load (LCL) Sea Freight services

This is to further enhance its offering to customers by running an additional consolidation service into the North of England.

The new premium service, which is running in addition to DSV’s weekly LCL service to London Gateway, offers customers an 8-day transit time from New York to Liverpool allowing a Northern unpack within two working days of arrival, with many of the shipments benefiting from a next day delivery.

DSV’s LCL services differentiate from competitors as they load more into their own system, which they argue means less damages and better information and communications for the customer, through their global IT systems. DSV also has full control of the supply chain as they’re handling all the planning in house.
Jensen continued: “Our in-house LCL specialist team in Purfleet gives us better control and management – and most importantly, it cuts out the middle man, so we can keep costs down and maintain the service levels our customers have come to expect from DSV. This service operates to a fixed weekly schedule, providing our customers with a reliable service that they can really count on.

As all the deliveries are fulfilled by DSV’s own vehicles, this enables end to-end visibility and track and trace on all deliveries.
