Possible London Heathrow Union Strike

The first of three planned strikes at Heathrow that was scheduled to take place on the 26th & 27th of July was cancelled as the Union representing some 4000 Heathrow staff considered a new revised pay offer through a Union Ballot.

The first of three planned strikes at Heathrow that was scheduled to take place on the 26th & 27th of July was cancelled as the Union representing some 4000 Heathrow staff considered a new revised pay offer through a Union Ballot, the outcome of that Ballot is still pending so the 2nd strike dates of the 5th and 6th of August may still come into effect

  • 4,000 Heathrow staff including security guards, drivers and engineers are planning to strike in a dispute over pay
  • The dates of intended strikes are: 26th & 27th July (CANCELLED) 5th & 6th Aug ( Pending ) , 23rd & 24th Aug ( Pending )
  • Each of these strikes two remaining dates are planned for 48 hours, starting at 00:01 on day 1 and finish at 23:59 on day 2
  • DSV UK will advise of any changes to the above dates
  • Maintaining Safety & Security are the priority, so any changes to normal operations will be risk assessed
  • It is not known how many security staff will attend work, so efforts will be made to minimise traffic through Control Posts
  • Airlines will be asked to close the demand and supply gap by moving freight away from these days and moving as little as possible

DSV will monitor the situation and continue to speak to our carriers to decide what actions are necessary to avoid disruption and delays to cargo during these strikes. Should there be any questions or concerns in this regard then please feel free to contact the DSV UK Air product Manager direct.
